Animal health, wellbeing and quality : The role of IAEC , 25th February 2012
A one day brainstorming seminar on "Animal Health, Wellbeing and Quality – The Role of IAEC" was organized by the Laboratory Animal Scientist's Association and CPCSEA, Ministry of Environment and Forests, New Delhi on February 25, 2012 at Hyderabad. The following issues were discussed in the seminar and recommendations were made. These recommendations have been sent to the Honorable Minister of Environment and Forests, Smt. Jayanthi Natarajan and to the Chairman, CPCSEA for consideration to improve the functioning of the CPCSEA.
Pre-conference workshop on Canine Echocardiography and Telemetry,15th and 16th February. 2011
Twenty four persons participated in two days Pre-conference workshop on Canine Echocardiography and Telemetry on February 15-16, 2011 in which they received hands on training on Echocardiography and telemetry. The resource persons for the workshop were from USA which included Dr. Robert Dysko, Dr. Joyce K. Holt, Dr. Ana Gonsalves and Dr. Curtis Michael Klages. Participants in the workshops included veterinarians from SAUs, Central Institutes, Pharma Industry and practicing vets from Delhi and Punjab. This pre-conference workshop was accredited by Registry of Approved Continuing Education (RACE), American Association of Veterinary State Boards, USA and carried points for Continuing Veterinary Education programme, USA.
Workshop on "Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Facilities, Quality Control and Quality Assurance Criteria" 1st October 2009
A one day pre-conference workshop was held at Mumbai on October 1, 2009 in joint collaboration with National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health, Mumbai and LASA, India. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. S.D. Kolkute, Director, NIRRH, Mumbai followed by a brief introduction about the workshop by Dr. S.S.Y.H. Qadri, Secretary, LASA, India. Dr. Robert Dysko, Vice-President Elect, AALAS, USA started the programme with keynote address. He elaborated extensively on the quality assurance of research animals and accreditation programme for animal research facilities. The Workshop was tightly scheduled with well balanced topics on accreditation, quality control and quality assurance criteria and were deliberated by eminent speakers from abroad and India. The thought provoking lectures by Dr. Gilles Demers, President, ICLAS, Canada; Dr. Christopher Cosgrove, Canada; Dr. Patricia Turner, Canada; Dr. Ken Boschert, USA; Dr. Gianpaolo Milite, Italy; Dr. Jordi Grifols, Spain; Dr. Hans Joachim Kramer, Germany, Dr. S.G. Ramachandra and Dr. Suresh Poosala, India enthralled the delegates. The interaction and fruitful discussions with the eminent speakers made the workshop a great success.
