JALAS International Award - 2013

Japanese Association for Laboratory Animal Science (JALAS) awarded the prestigious JALAS International Award (2013) to Dr. Prakash Geriyol, Senior Research Scientist, Krish Biotech Research Pvt. Ltd, Kolkata. He has received this prestigious award during 60th annual meeting of JALAS that was held at Tsukuba, Japan on May 15-17, 2013 for his abstract entitled "Caffeine protects the Vinblastine sulphate induced genotoxicity in rats"


JALAS International Award - 2010

Japanese Association for Laboratory Animal Science (JALAS) awarded the prestigious JALAS International Award (2010)to Dr. Rahul Anandrao Thorat of ACTREC, Mumabi in 2011. He has received this prestigious award during 58th annual meeting of JALAS that was held in Tokyo on May 25-27, 2011. He was awarded with a bursary of \100,000 (Japanese yen) in cash at the annual meeting of JALAS.


JALAS International Award - 2009

Japanese Association for Laboratory Animal Science (JALAS) awarded the prestigious JALAS International Award (2009) to Harikrishnan. V.S, Bio Medical Technology wing, Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He has received this prestigious award during 57th annual meeting of JALAS that was held at Kyoto, Japan on May 12-14, 2010 for his abstract entitled "Pre-Clinical evaluation of a vascular graft in sheep carotid artery model- An effective method of Cerebral protective Anesthesia, with Mechanical Positive Pressure Ventilation"

Japanese Association for Laboratory Animal Science (JALAS) awarded the prestigious JALAS International Award (2007) to Dr. Mahesh Kumar J, Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad. He has received this prestigious award during 55th annual meeting of JALAS that was held at Miyagi, Japan on May 15-17, 2008 for his abstract entitled "A mouse model for Luminal epithelial like ER positive subtype of human breast cancer"

Dr. Arvind Ingle named Facility Leader of the Year - 2013

Dr. Arvind Ingle, Officer-in-Charge, Laboratory Animal Facility, ACTREC has received the "TurnKey Facility Leader of the Year" Award, 2013 in recognition of his excellence in leadership by the ALN Magazine, ALN World, USA in the TurnKey Conference (turnkeyconference.com) that was held at Gaylord National Resort & Convention Centre, National Harbor, Maryland, USA.


Tecniplast Award - 2011

Dr. Sheshagiri Gaonkar received his BVSc., and MVSc., from the Bangalore Veterinary College. Currently working as Research Scientist and Coordinator, Animal Care Facility at AstraZeneca R&D, Bangalore. His poster entitled "A "Fast PK" method to screen compounds in drug discovery" at the LASA 2009 conference adjudged as the best poster and conferred with the "Tecniplast Award" for best poster. This award entitled him a free paid trip to FELASA Congress2010 at Helsinki, Finland.



Young Investigator Award

Mrs. Rosa J Samuel, working at the Central Animal Facility, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore has been bestowed with Young Investigator Award at the 4th Asian Federation of Laboratory Animal Science Associations (AFLAS) Congress 2010 which was held at Taipei, Taiwan from November 9-11, 2010 for the abstract entitled "An alternate and rapid method for detection of bacterial agents in laboratory animal facilities




Life time achievement awards

During the Second National Conference on "Current Perspectives and Future Challenges in Laboratory Animal Management" that was held on December 29-30, 2007 at the J.N. Tata Auditorium, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, following eminent personalities were honoured with Life time achievement awards for their significant contribution to the field of Laboratory Animal Science in India.


Lifetime Award

During the Third National Conference of the Laboratory Animal Scientists' Association (LASA) that was held at Saraswati Sabhagrah, Mumbai University Campus, Mumbai from October 1-3, 2009, Dr. Subray N. Naik was bestowed with Life time achievement award for his significant contribution in the field of laboratory animal science in India.

Dr. Subray N Naik, received his BSc. (Vet), MSc., and PhD from Mumbai University. Started his career with Maharashtra Govt. in 1952 and then joined Cancer Research Institute in 1958. He was heading Comparative Oncology and Animal Sciences Division and attained superannuation in 1988. Published 122 research articles in peer review journals. Bestowed with "Life time" achievement award by the LASA India for his significant contribution to the field of Laboratory Animal Science.
